  What about transportation?

Students are expected to have access to reliable transportation before beginning the MD Program. In many locations, accommodations are provided for learners. Where this is not the case, students are expected to make arrangements to travel to their clinical site. Students assigned to locations that are more than 35km from their McMaster home campus site will receive financial compensation through Mac-CARE or ROMP for travel (i.e. commuting) and/or accommodations. Locations less than 35km from the McMaster home campus are not eligible for financial compensation and, therefore, accommodations will not be provided. Once the location match is finalized, no switches in locations will be allowed, except in extraordinary circumstances (e.g. significant illness). Unfortunately, whether or not you have a car or mode of transportation is not considered extraordinary circumstances.
