  Create a recurring event

Adding Recurrence to an Event

To alter an event you have already entered follow these steps.

  1. Open the green event details screen of the event by clicking on the text within the event box.
  2. From the "Repeats" drop down box, select one of the options:
    • Daily
    • Every Weekday
    • Every Mon., Wed., and Fri.
    • Every Tues. and Thurs.
    • Weekly
    • Monthly
    • Yearly
  3. Select the end date of the recurrence, i.e. the date after which the event no longer repeats (this can be set to never to allow the events to continue indefinitely, such as in the case of a birthday).
  4. If one of the options fits your desired recurrence, click "Save" and you will see the event populate itself for those extra times.

What if one of the options doesn't meet my needs?

If you find one of the options from the "Repeats:" drop down list does not fit your recurrence exactly, the recurrences can be customized. Please refer to the following examples for how to customize your recurrence.

I have an event that...

Occurs every three days, regardless of the day of the week

  • Select "Daily" from the list and set the number beside "Repeat every:" to 3 days.

Occurs every Mon., Tues., and Thurs.

  • Select "Weekly" from the list and under "Repeat On:" put a check in the boxes that correspond to Mon., Tues. and Thurs.

Occurs on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month.

  1. You will need to create two instances of your event. Create one on the second Wednesday of the starting month, and one on the fourth.
  2. Open the first occurrence and select "Monthly" from the list.
  3. Beside "Repeat every", set it to 1 month.
  4. Ensure that "Repeat By:" is set to "day of the week".
  5. Click "Save"
  6. Repeat steps 2-6 for the second instance of the event you created.

Has such a strange occurrence schedule that I don't know how to enter it

  • Always feel free to email support@medportal.ca for advice on your particular situation.
