  View your calendar in Sunbird/Lightning

To access your medportal calendar(s) with Mozilla Sunbird or Mozilla Lightning (Sunbird plugin for Thunderbird email client), follow these steps:

  1. Download the Provider for Google Calendar add-on.
  2. Open Sunbird / Thunderbird. In the menu above, click "Tools", "Add-Ons". If using Thunderbird, click the Gear menu, then "Install Add-on from file"; if using Sunbird, click "Install".
  3. Locate and install the .xpi add-on file you just downloaded.
  4. If your version of Sunbird / Lightning is not compatible with the provider add-on, you will be prompted with this information. If so, you might want to try the information available here instead of these directions.
  5. After the installation is complete, you may be prompted to restart the application.
  6. For "Account Type", select "Google Calendar".
  7. In the "Location" field, put in the public URL to the .ics feed of the calendar, which you can locate through the calendar web interface under "Calendar Settings". It will look similar to this:
  8. Complete the add new calendar dialogue. After you have logged in with your full medportal email address and waited for a few minutes, you will now see events pop up in your calendar.
  9. You need to complete this process for each calendar you want access to. Note that you will not be able to write to any calendar but your own.
