How are students being prepared to use ExamSoft and Examplify?
Students and faculty receive similar information in preparation to use Examplify for sitting assessments.
As with faculty, students receive notification that they will be using Examplify for an upcoming assessment, and they receive a follow-up message confirming access to ExamSoft and Examplify. These messages outline and/or contain links for:
- Installing Examplify
- Preparing for an assessment
- Downloading an assessment before the day of that assessment
- Entering and exiting an assessment
- Completing a zero-stakes, mock assessment
- Differentiating between ExamSoft and Examplify
- Why the UGME Program is migrating assessments to ExamSoft
When students first log into Examplify, they have access to two zero-stakes assessments to help identify any technology-related barriers or concerns ahead of time. Students also have access to the same online and in-person supports available to faculty members.
Leading up to an assessment, students receive multiple reminders to download the assessment file to their laptop before arriving to the assessment room. On the day of the assessment, technical support is available in-person or by phone/email, and back-up hard copies of the assessment are also on-hand.
