What causes an error message when trying to log into ExamSoft or Examplify

There are some common issues related to browser choice and login information that can cause an error message when trying to log into ExamSoft or Examplify.

Faculty and staff can follow this checklist to try and resolve the issue:

1.       Are you logging into ExamSoft using either your Chrome or Firefox browser?
ExamSoft works best on these two browsers

2.       Is Caps Lock off?
The LDAP ID and Password fields are both case-sensitive.

3.       Are you typing only the unique portion of your MedPortal ID?
Ex. mcmaster.student@medportal.ca would only enter “mcmaster.student” into the LDAP ID field.
Note: Users with long user names will have their login truncated to 20 characters
Ex. awesomemcmaster.superstudent@medportal.ca would only enter “awesomemcmaster.supe” into the LDAP field

4.       Have you ever changed your MedPortal password?
MedPortal passwords must be changed via https://www.medportal.ca/account/changepassword. If you have previously changed your MedPortal password through the Google interface, this change will not have been reflected in services that use MedPortal login information (such as ExamSoft).
Head to https://www.medportal.ca/account/changepassword and reset your MedPortal password, then try logging into ExamSoft or Examplify.

5.       If you are still receiving an error message, contact Jeremy Sandor.
