How should staff and faculty decide how to appropriately size an image associated with a question item?

Similar to a word processor, images can be uploaded directly into a question stem, and the question writer can decide how big or small the image should appear to the test taker.  Staff and faculty can use the following list to determine the appropriate value to enter in the “Width” box.

Entering 250 for width results in an image that extends approximately one-quarter of the way across a screen.

Entering 500 for width results in an image that extends approximately halfway across a screen.

Entering 750 for width results in an image that extends approximately three-quarters of the way across a screen.

Entering 1000 for width results in an image that extends approximately the length of a screen.

Image height should adjust automatically to keep the image’s dimensions proportionate and will appear along with the rest of the question item text box sized as students will see it in Examplify.

Please note: Faculty responsible for a particular assessment should always preview that assessment in Examplify before posting for students to download.
